Lighten up!

That's me. I like to play, too. Just ask Doodlebug. A few days ago, I was doing what I always do when I feel a tantrum coming on from either of us -- I start being ridiculous. "You don't want to go to the bathroom before we leave the house? That's ok. We'll just bring the bathroom with us. You say it won't fit in the car? That's ok, we can tie it to the roof. It won't fit on the roof? What about if we drag it behind the car? No? It can't come out of the house? Then I guess we'll just have to take the whole house with us. Sure we can. We'll just use a spatula to pick it up off the yard. Oh, that's right, it's a townhouse...it's stuck to our neighbor's house. Well, I guess we'll have to bring their house too. Well, why CAN'T they come with us to the grocery store?! They like bananas too! Hey wait...they like bananas. Maybe they're monkeys! Oh no, Doodlebug, I think our neighbors might be monkeys!!! We'll have to call the zoo and ask them to come pick up Ralph and Sheila and take them back to their cages!"

And after this last bit, Doodlebug looks up at me and says:

"Mommy, you're making a fool out of yourself."
