If you could give anything to someone you loved, what would it be

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 06, 2007:
I would give my husband his father.
True's father died unexpectedly, too young, when True was just 21. He has remained a superhero to True, and from all accounts, this isn't totally inaccurate. So many times, True has struggled with something, and I've known that he needed his dad.
Of course, there are those who would say that doing these things, having these struggles without his dad is precisely the path True is here to take. Some would say that this is his life's lesson -- dealing with tremendous loss, loss he is reminded of often, loss that his helpless wife cannot heal for him. Some would say that this is the color of all life: streaks of sadness through the bright stripes of joy.
However, if someone gave me the chance to give anything to someone, I would still give this to him. And because I know True reads this blog: my love, I'm sorry I can't do it for real.
